They say you need a sword to rule this land And the king who wields it has the kingdom at his command But those who rule by the blade shall fail In their violent pursuit of the unholy grail On to Avalon, where we belong On to Avalon, where we belong Let's Go Over the Lake Let's Go All the magick has left this solemn place It's now a worthless world of pain and waste Time to depart, it's time to leave To the island where we can forever grieve On to Avalon, where we belong On to Avalon, where we belong Let's Go Over the Lake Let's Go Sorrowed for it all, since the fall Of The Old Ways and The Blessed Days Now just death, as the kingdom takes her final breath Take your final breath On to Avalon, where we belong On to Avalon, where we belong

Ripped from the root: I am with you I feel her alive and venus behaved Magic the guide to expect as she makes her entrance - Did you not bask beneath my gaze? Oh the wind can cause the rails to creak like a ship in Arctic duress Then a slavedancer, beaded and perfumed Metal-cold bracelets upon each battered wrist - The question of my deity rewarded With every wave of her hand to the audience In 200 AD, I am yet just and fair in the language of trees A soldier in respite while they plotted my death Then a simple Bard shackled yet still able to sing Trimmed, and perfect and haven't eaten in three days I know what it is to lose my heart Now reaching up to that lovely, lovely place Where all answers await capture Believe in Me And I'll take you with me ---- Are we defined by misunderstandings? A thousand or more Chant the All The Mighty Rise and Fall Rise and Fall

Here, thoughts cling airborne To a sea of voice so glorious; mesmerizing This is my body; this is my inner mind What lies beneath my eyes Discarded years of elemental faith Beckoned to a watery embrace With love upon his face My appetite's unchanged Sink into dream; these enchanted depths The realm of muted wisdom Slowly descend; trust ignites the darkness And bliss is this drowning moment Believe me I am sorry To charm with bitter eyes; mesmerizing Careless magic turns upon itself, washed down in ritual The coin and prayer can't feed the wishing well The silence glistens on my skin The water urges charity I crave a grander offering My appetite's unchanged Sink into dream; these enchanted depths The realm of muted wisdom Slowly descend; trust ignites the darkness And bliss is this drowning moment Here I remain This is my body; this sea my inner mind Find comfort in my arms Winds beckon above the surface Storms wane forsaken My gaze is baptism; mesmerizing Come to me Greet me with open arms Mesmerizing

When you left our Sun did set for all time But from my love there’s no escape you are mine And if you take my hand I will bring you into Pull you in to my Dominion My Dominion My heart, my soul, my body was yours for all time But our love and death is there within the stars You’re still mine And if you take my hand I will bring you into Pull you in to my Dominion My Dominion

O my dear brother I am damnified at Caer Siddi For mine husband hath this twelfmonth treated me with cruelty Albe to please thee I didst cheerfully accept his proffred hand I was ne'er wary he was ruler of y Uffern land For when his gastful subjects they didst first espy hir friendless Queen Eftsoone they wept for I to them was noughte but a living thing Hence with despight his consorted kingdoms stony heart eshewde And I am thrall'd to sufferance in poverty and servitude For I am one of three great queens of the Cymry Loneliness Patience Wisdom Happiness O my brother thou art King of y Island o the Mighty Alfeare of thy rage hath placed silent sentinels at Caer Siddi Ynow for bane or worse that may betide I send my gentle bird Whilst I bemoan mine outcast state tho hold my tongues unthrifty word And I am one of three great queens of the Cymry Loneliness Patience Wisdom Happiness — In the sands, you said you felt free That this somehow led you back to me But time and again you left me playing the fool Now I know that your heart is cruel You should have left me In the temple to burn Should have left me In the temple to burn Will the desert call you back, my friend? Then will you feel the same about me once again? But I won’t be here waiting for you The fires have come and they will burn me through You should have left me In the temple to burn Should have left me In the temple to burn Loneliness Patience Wisdom

Long have I dwelt o'er the Realm of the Drowning Man Still I was empty... Long have they been dashed against my shores Still I was waiting... And to my wat'ry depths they sadly sank And I was sinking I put them all to sleep One touch of my voice Then dead at my feet It was nothing... In the early hours A grey dawn misty morn The turning tide Surveyed with flooding eyes The sky breaking through The morning silent And yet I hear the sound The faintest beat Of heart that sank itself Beneath my waves There was something... I realize I'm nothing like my kind Your heart is still beating (Ocean lament, hear, hear me. Lost in your waves, send him your waves Send him waves, ocean.) You gotta sing out strong You've got a voice that melts the glaciers down Keep your heart alive I'm almost there Keep your heart alive and I'll bring you home

Through the cracks in the wall I'm going back to Nature Through the holes in the floor my roots search for the waters Along crumbling brick I'm building back my forest Over collapsed walls I'm stretching myself homeward To me To me The trees are burning and the wars unseen What we know and what we believe As the sidewalks break I'm dropping down my anchors Along rusting wires I'm stretching out my fingers From the rotting beams I'm reaching towards the answer Upon broken glass I may walk forever To me To me The walls are blurring and the lines between What we know and what we believe Leave a bounty of fruit at the bottom for the cinders When the oceans die, your tears will fill the rivers

Guide me to your galaxy Where your star shines brightly Lead me to our destiny Where our stars shine brightly Wake me from this fantasy Where my star shines brightly A thousand dreamers crept as one Journey’d by the Colder Sun Stars fall on me Your star falls on me We are Divinity We choose to be

You know this. You know this. It’s in her eyes. It’s always been there. I have no reason to tell you one more time. Your conspiracy theories all too human, still she destroys your homes, your cities. The faceless judgement spins onward and outward spreading their mental illness. The emotional jungle builds all around you. And civilization will change to its deepest core. Nature will rise and heal herself. Nature will rise and heal herself. — So now that you're done with me You think I'll go so easily You don't know me well I've clawed my way back up from hell Accuse me of all you will It doesn't matter what you do I will be here still even if you burn me, I rise with the fire hang me, I'm free if I desire drown me, I control the see kill me, try and kill me. Bleed me, I can stand the pain break me, I'll never admit the blame damn me, in hell your face I'll see kill me, try and kill me It's double double and you're in trouble You're never gonna figure out this puzzle This isn't some practical magic I've seen your fate and it is tragic

There's something strange about you But that's a good thing What they don't know about you I can see And when no one is around I know you're magic You speak to animals And they understand I I was you I was there It feels like lifetimes ago When there was music in my head that no one else could hear There's something strange about you But that's a good thing What they don't know about you Is their loss And when they laugh at you Make you feel worthless in your own skin They don't know you're going to do some amazing things You are me You are here It feels like ages from now When your strangeness turns to strength And it all becomes so clear Everyone is lost until their heart is found Everyone feels weak Everyone breaks down Everyone needs love and a place to call their own Everyone is tired Everyone feels totally alone They say we're the Strange Ones but we are the lucky ones We grew up stronger We grew up knowing what the others take their lifetimes to understand There's nothing strange about us at all

Sitting here as the crowd flows by People flowing like water Like tiny stars towards the universal light Our lives flow along something great and unseen Where have we been going all this time Just close your eyes. People flowing like water I just need a moment. Just close your eyes. And we will all return (We flow We breathe We laugh We fall We burn Always we return) Where have we been going all this time Just close your eyes. Cities growing like the wind Rising up and gone again Like the scent of desert rain The sand will cover us again We are all just tiny cells Flooded by our raw emotions Our anger is an energy like fire Destructive and all-consuming Where have we been going all this time The Secret Garden… I just need a moment. Shhhhhh… Just close your eyes. And we will return Something in you something deep remembers… Sitting here as the crowds flow by People searching for answers Drowning as they see different colored skies Addicted now to cold attention Where have we been going…? We flow We breathe We laugh We fall We burn Always we return

about

Monica Richards & Anthony Jones: AESTUARIUM

The first full-length release from the artists together, the title means water with one or more rivers or streams flowing into it that flows out to the open sea… When Anthony Jones reached out to Monica Richards about doing a special live show together, neither one had any idea how far this idea might go… and their collaboration, like the title, allows for their singular talents to flow together.

Anthony Jones is a versatile artist with a phenomenal voice, best known for his performance art project MONASTIC. His cover versions of Suicide Commando’s “Love Breeds Suicide,” and L’ame Immortelle’s “Love is Lost,” and vocal contributions to :Wumpscut:’s “Killuh,” has exposed Anthony to a larger European audience. A long time Faith and the Muse fan, as well as a close friend of singer/composer Monica Richards, Anthony wrote her about playing a live show in San Francisco in 2016. The two began to chat back and forth about their mutual admiration, and a new duo emerged.

With Anthony's solo albums featuring old world instrumentation fused with darkwave synths and beats, and Monica’s solo work in such a similar fashion, it was very easy to merge their musical styles to create some new songs for their performances. And now with their very first European show at the 2018 Wave Gotik Treffen, they decided to put out a special CD featuring some of their song fusions. The CD was called SYZYGY, an astronomical term for an event in which one astronomical object is lined-up with another, as the Sun and the Moon.

Their first musical merging happened when Monica added her piece “The Mighty” from her solo album, Naiades, to Anthony’s “We’re the Vikings, Remember?” from his own album, Guardian of the Wolf. The subsequent combination, which they titled for this release, “We are the Mighty, Remember!”, became a sensational live piece. This made them join together other songs, with Monica even singing new variations from her work in Faith and the Muse.

Aestuarium features the release of two new songs, Avalon and Petrichor, as well as some incredible collaborations. Each song featured may have its beginnings in Anthony’s and Monica’s earlier works, but the final result is something altogether new.
